Help Me Teach the Bible
I’m pretty new to the world of podcasts, which probably says more about my age than my taste.
The podcast I’ve listened to the most is one hosted by Nancy Guthrie: Help Me Teach The Bible. I’m not sure if it’s Nancy’s enthusiasm for the Bible, her knowledgeable guests or the topic, but if I had a go-to, it would be this one. The latest episode is a re-release with guest Gary Millar speaking on the book of 1 Kings. Dr Millar was one of our keynote speakers at this year’s P&A Conference.
Women’s ministry: What, why, how
I don’t know if you’ve got an answer for “What is women’s ministry?”, but it seems like there’s lots of different definitions floating around. Something that keeps being useful is a seminar by Di Warren called “Women’s ministry: What, why, how”. In it, she challenges us to develop a culture of intentional women’s discipleship, rather than letting the calendar define it. The seminar was recorded in three short sections so that it can be easily incorporated into a church’s training session for women small group leaders. The audio mp3 files are free to download from the EQUIP women website. (The video files incur a small fee.)

A brief theology of periods
The title of this book immediately caught my attention, A Brief Theology of Periods (Yes, really!) and a recommendation by a friend, nudged this little book from my “hope to read” pile to my “reading” pile. It is a book on what the Bible has to say about that time of the month, but it also touches on broader ranging questions like what it means to be embodied, mortal and even what is a woman. Written by Rachel Jones, the author of the series of booklets, “5 Things to Pray”, it’s an interesting and sometimes surprising read directed at women, but it’s also accessible to older teens.

The beauty of complementarity goes beyond gender
This article is a few years old now, but it’s new to me. I came across it for the first time last week. It’s a winsome read on the beauty of God’s creation of complementary genders.
