Nick and Sam moved to Birmingham in 2015 to minister at St Bartholomew’s Church (known locally as “The Old Church”), which has not had an evangelical vicar since the nineteenth century. On arrival, their children were the only kids attending church on a Sunday, and there was no mid-week ministry. More than any other ministry situation that they have experienced, their time in Edgbaston highlighted the need for “team Tucker” to work together for the gospel. Nick and Sam will share some of the lessons they learned about the wonderful opportunities for growth, but also about managing the pressures and challenges of tackling a turnaround ministry together.
