The story of Lady Jane Grey is one of the most tragic tales of the English Reformation. An extraordinarily learned noblewoman, she was hastily thrust upon the throne after the death of King Edward VI, ruled temporarily as the so-called “Queen of Nine Days”, and was eventually abandoned and murdered during the anxious and stuttering start of the Marian regime. The judicial murder of sixteen-year-old Jane Grey was a tragedy, but it was also a martyrdom. Indeed, the story of the sincere faith of Lady Jane Grey amidst such sadness is remarkable. In this talk, we explore, in context, her theological education, academic brilliance, scriptural soundness, and Christ-focused faith in the face of death.
